The Cheffers Family
Cheffers Comedy for HOPE fundraiser continued.

Comedy for HOPE was successful in two ways.

1) Jill and Cory were overwhelmed with the feelings of Love and support from all who came. By your support, you showed these kids that they are not alone with this catastrophic medical event in their lives. Everyone who was able to attend helped them learn first hand that there are people who care and are willing to help them while their mother is in the hospital fighting cancer and recovering from her stroke.

2) It started a ground swell of support that can continue to grow through your generous donations we will be able to give this family a car to transport their mom back and fourth to appointments once she gets out of the hospital and a home to call their own. The progressive Car auction for the Cheffers is going great please continue the good work.

TheDaveFamily
Judy and Vimal Dave lost their home to Hurricane Katrina. To compound matters, less than a year earlier Judy was diagnosed with Stage 4 breast cancer. After an emergency mastectomy in 2004, nine chemotherapy treatments and 33 radiation treatments, Judy was scheduled for reconstructive surgery and a breast reduction for her surviving breast for November 2005. After Katrina hit, Judy's surgery was rescheduled for December, but a complication in the reconstruction has further delayed her recovery.

As a result of Katrina, Judy was laid off from her job and, subsequently, lost her health insurance. Vimal's self-owned culinary business was also forced to make major cut backs, and with Judy now unable to work due to her cancer, the couple is forced to live on less than $1,000 per month, barely enough to cover Judy's medications and health insurance premiums.

Because of Faith's Hope Foundation, Judy and Vimal will be able to pay bills they wouldn't have had the money for. To read about how the Dave Family has already been helped, click here. To support the Dave Family, please click here.

The LaForest Family

Jamie and Kristopher LaForest had their first baby, Aidan, last August. He appeared to be a healthy boy until three hours after discharge from the hospital, when they noticed Aidan was having trouble breathing. After a transport to a neonatal unit, the doctor diagnosed him with a heart defect. To stay alive, he would need to undergo three open heart surgeries or a heart transplant.

Kristopher had no choice but to take an extended leave from work without pay so he could be at the hospital when needed. Aidan was able to go home after twenty-six days, but Jamie's maternity leave was also ending and she was forced to quit her job to take care of Aidan in between surgeries. While Jamie and Kristopher cared for their son, their marriage was tested, differences between the families arose, Kristopher lost one fulltime job, they had two trucks repossessed, they were denied help from the State and will need to file bankruptcy.
Even though times are still difficult, they trust that God will bring them through the difficult times. To help the LaForest Family, please click here.

The Hardie Family

Willene Hardie's life has been filled with challenges from the start. After a series of complications at birth, including water on the brain and a seizure disorder, Willene Hardie was finally able to go home from the hopsital. Nine months later, Willene was diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy. At just three years old, Willene began a lifetime of a series of surgeries.
Now 13, Willene's disability has caused her to be completely reliant on her mother, Paula, to get around. Paula, Willene, and Willene's six-year-old brother, Mark, moved to St. Petersburg, FL from Washington just over a year ago after a difficult separation from the children's father. Since then, Paula has been Willene's sole caretaker, and as a single parent who spends most of her time with her daughter, finances are unstable.
Faith's Hope Foundation has been and will continue to be a tremendous support with your help. To aid the Hardie family, please click here.

The Ruiz Family

Antonio was just two years old when he was diagnosed with leukemia. His mother, Estella, wanted the best care for him. But that came at a cost to their family.

Antonio needed constant care, and Estella couldn't leave him alone at the hospital. He needed his mother. But the more time she spent with Antonio, the less time she had to spend at work. Estella quickly fell behind on the bills, and the family was about to be evicted from their home. Thankfully, Faith's Hope Foundation stepped in.

The Ruiz Family faces a daily struggle, but because someone cares, they have a chance to live a normal life. To help the Ruiz family, please click here.

The Schoenmann Family
In 2006, Chris Schoenmann was fighting for his life. Chris has Burkitts lymphoma, an extremely rare and aggressive form of cancer with which an average of 300 people a year are diagnosed. To compound the difficulty, his sister Brianna also suffers from an autoimmune disease, Polyarteritis nodosum, so that life for the Schoenmanns is a daily struggle.

Today his family is battling to survive the financial crisis brought about because of their love and concern for Chris. His mother Colleen has worked tirelessly to hold down a job, however, numerous complications and setbacks with Chris' cancer and chemotherapy treatment have made it necessary for Colleen to take time off work and reduce her hours. Although her employer is very understanding of her son's condition, she loses needed income for rent, car payment and utilities. Being a divided family in today's world is difficult enough without the added duties involved in caring for chronically ill children.

Their family is hopeful that Chris will no longer require hospitalization, but the outcome remains uncertain. To support the Schoenmann Family, please click here.

The Fry Family

Debbie Fry was diagnosed just over a year ago with Stage 3 ER/PR- HER2/neu+ cancer, an extremely rare form of breast cancer. So rare, in fact, that only 4% of women with breast cancer throughout the world have been diagnosed with this form. Since her diagnosis, Debbie has been in and out of the hospital seven times in addition to regular doctor's visits for MRIs, CAT Scans, blood work and check-ups. After a mastectomy, she went through an initial phase of chemotherapy and is now on her second phase, which will last for 11 more months. She has also begun radiation, which she will undergo five days per week for six weeks.

This past year has been a trying time for Debbie and her family. Not only are they dealing with the emotional strain of Debbie's disease, but also the financial strain of hospital stays, expensive treatments and travel. Debbie and David will soon be traveling to Stanford where Debbie will undergo experimental treatment for her cancer. While this new treatment option is exciting, it also means additional time away from work for David. Coupled with the time David lost at work due to recent hospital visits caused by diabetes-related complications, their resources are running extremely thin.

The Fry Family is thankful that Faith's Hope Foundation has stepped in to offer vital financial support during her illness. To support the Fry Family, please click here.

The Luevano Family
Armando and Estella's life changed forever the day their son Michael had his first seizure. Michael was diagnosed with epilepsy, a life-threatening medical condition, and since then has been hospitalized on and off for the last three years.

Michael requires full-time care, and so Armando and Estella are unable to maintain full time employment. In the midst of taking care of their son, both Armando and Estella lost their respective jobs. Although Armando has since obtained employment, they are deep in debt. Hospital bills are more than the family can handle during this very trying time in their lives.

There is always light at the end of the tunnel, and Armando, Estella and Michael credit Faith's Hope Foundation for their hope in a better future. To help the Luevano Family, please click here.
