On July 1st, 2008 our son Matheu was born with Bladder Exstrophy, a rare birth defect that leaves the bladder under developed and outside the body. In addition, the pelvic bone, penis, sphincter, urethra and other members of the region were under developed and or in need of repair. This condition occurs in 1:50,000 births.
